Advocacy Committee
The Advocacy Committee concerns itself with political action
and advocacy on behalf of our members and the Graphic Arts industry
in California. Through this committee, our chapter works with
government, annd other organizations to promote the mission and
interests of the Guild.
The primary work of this committee in recent years has been concerned
with the issue of the elimination of sales tax for graphic artists
in California. Individuals interested in how the graphic arts
industry relates to government and society would enjoy sitting
on this committee. It also offers numerous opportunities to meet
with elected officials and other policy makers in the process
of advocating for the rights of graphic artists.
Currently opportunities exist to help maintain the pressure in
Sacramento regarding sales tax, as well as the national effort
to obtain collective bargaining rights. Chair position open. If you are interested in volunteering for this committee, please come to the next steering meeting.
