NorCal Guild Outreach Committee

The Outreach Committee promotes and organizes working professionals from our membership to speak to college students and other graphic arts organizations about issues facing our industry, such as contracts, rights and usage, taxes, self-promotion, and intellectual property. Many graphic art students are graduating with art skills but limited knowledge about real world business practices and their rights as artists.

Speaking to students is a rewarding way to give something back to the community and help the next generation enter the work force better prepared. It also hones your speaking skills and helps promote awareness of the benefits of membership in a professional union like the Guild.

We welcome volunteers who are interested in:
1. Speaking to students or arts organizations.
2. Writing letters to schools/instructors/organizations informing them about our service.
3. Bringing new ideas to the Committee.
