Featured Artist: Wen Chao

My Background: Wen brings over 7 years of professional experience in art direction, medical illustration, and technical animation. His works reflect high degree of artistry and technical accuracy – a result of his dual background in both the fine arts and the biological sciences. Wen holds a Master of Arts in Medical Art from Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a Bachelor of Fine Arts from University of Michigan.

Wen is the Founder and Principal of Watermark Design, a San Francisco-Bay Area based studio specializing in illustrations and animations for the healthcare and technology industries.

My Technique: All of my renderings are created digitally using variety of software depending on the project and client requirement.

Illustrations: Photoshop and Illustrator.
2-D animations: Flash, After Effects, and Premiere.
3-D animations: Poser and Cinema 4D.

My involvement with the Guild: I'm the point person for the South Bay Guild community. I just spent a day volunteering working the table at the 2002 Seybold Conference.
